In 1917 Fred A. Lemke started working for the Buffalo Bolt Company. During his many years of employment, he passed along his knowledge of the industry to his son Paul Lemke, Sr. who followed in his father’s footsteps at that same company.
In 1959, Paul left the Buffalo Bolt Co. and founded Thruway Fasteners, Inc. Thruway started distributing fasteners in Western New York and quickly developed locations along New York Interstate 90, also known as the “Thruway.” As the company expanded its product offerings beyond standard fasteners, it grew in both territory and market share.
Thruway is now a 3rd generation, privately held company with over 96 consecutive years of experience serving leading OEM companies across the globe. This experience, combined with Thruway’s commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of service and operation, positions Thruway today, and into the future, as a trusted leader in the management of Fasteners, Hardware & C-Class Component solutions.
